Our Commitment to Accessibility

At voluntasOS, we believe that the web should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or technology. We are committed to providing a platform and user experience that is inclusive and conforms to accessibility standards.

Accessibility Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and provide a better user experience for everyone.

Accessibility Features

Platform Dashboard

Our administrative dashboard includes:

• Keyboard Navigation: All features are fully accessible via keyboard
• Screen Reader Support: Semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and proper heading structure
• Focus Indicators: Clear visual focus states for all interactive elements
• Color Contrast: Minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text, 3:1 for large text
• Consistent Layout: Predictable navigation and interface patterns
• Form Labels: All form inputs have associated labels
• Error Handling: Clear error messages with instructions for resolution

Consent Widget

The voluntasOS widget deployed on customer websites features:

• Keyboard Accessible: All controls operable via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Space)
• Screen Reader Announcements: Dynamic content changes announced to assistive technologies
• Customizable Position: Can be positioned to avoid interfering with site content
• Bypass Mechanism: Users can dismiss or minimize without accepting
• Persistent Preferences: Remembers user choices across sessions

Design System

Our "Pencil Aesthetic" design system is built with accessibility in mind:

• System font stack for optimal readability
• Sufficient spacing and click targets (minimum 44x44px)
• Monochrome primary palette with high-contrast accents
• Consistent visual hierarchy and information architecture

How this site is tested

Every push runs an automated audit of these pages against WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA, in light and dark themes and at two text densities. It checks names, roles, labels, headings, landmarks, focus order, keyboard operation, colour contrast measured against what is actually rendered, and reflow at 320 CSS pixels. A finding fails the build.

What that does not cover

We have not tested this site with a screen reader, and we have not tested it with disabled testers. Automated checking reaches roughly a third of WCAG; the rest needs a person, and for the parts that are about being understood rather than being marked up correctly, it needs a person who uses assistive technology every day.

That work is planned. When it happens we will publish what was tested, who tested it, and what they found — including the parts they found wanting. Until then, treat anything on this page about NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver or TalkBack as absent rather than passed, because that is what it is.

Browsers

The automated audit runs in Chromium. The site is built to standards rather than to a browser, and we use current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge day to day — but only Chromium is checked on every build, so that is the only one we will claim.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, there may be some accessibility challenges:

• Third-Party Content: Some embedded content or integrations may have accessibility limitations beyond our control
• Older Browsers: Accessibility features may not work correctly in outdated browsers
• Custom Scripts: User-generated remediation scripts deployed through our platform are the responsibility of the script author

We are continuously working to identify and address accessibility issues. If you encounter a barrier, please let us know.

Customer Responsibilities

As a voluntasOS customer deploying our widget on your website, you are responsible for:

• Ensuring your website content meets accessibility standards
• Providing accessible alternatives for non-text content
• Testing remediation scripts for accessibility before deployment
• Responding to accessibility concerns from your users
• Maintaining accurate and accessible policy documents

voluntasOS provides tools for user-controlled enhancement, but does not guarantee that your website will be accessible or compliant with accessibility regulations.

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We are committed to:

• Regular accessibility audits and testing
• Training our team on accessibility best practices
• Incorporating accessibility into our design and development process
• Monitoring and addressing reported accessibility issues
• Staying current with evolving accessibility standards
• Engaging with the disability community for feedback

Tell us first — write to admin@gabanodelab.com describing the barrier, the page it is on, and how you would like to be replied to. We acknowledge within two business days and tell you what we intend to do and when.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you do not have to stop with us:

Raising a complaint costs you nothing and does not affect your account or your service with us.
